I am a research assistant at the SoWa Institute and a PhD student at the department of Ecosystem biology, University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice with the supervision of Dr. Travis Meador. I have long-term work experiences as a student assistant at the Institute MARUM (Center for Marine Environmental Science, Bremen, Germany) in the Workgroup of organic Geochemistry lead by Prof. Dr. Kai-Uwe Hinrichs. My main interests are reconstructing Paleoenvironments by applying microbial membrane biomarkers and analysing microbial activity and metabolism by applying Stable Isotope Probing (SIP) experiments. I have experience in analysing these biomarkers on different techniques, such as GC-FID/MS/IRMS, LC-QToF-MS, QQQ and FTICR-MS. Also developing new methods for analysing biomarkers with different techniques takes a big part of my working experience. My research focuses in determining and quantifying fungal C-turnover rates and mechanisms in subsurface ecosystems by applying dual stable isotope probing (δ13C + δ2H) analysing the membrane biomarkers.
