Daniel Petráš Group
I am bioinformatician at the Biology Centre CAS in České Budějovice. I have experience with processing biological data, particularly amplicon sequencing, shotgun sequencing, metagenomics, RNASeq, modelling of metabolism based on 16S rRNA gene sequences. I attended long term work placement at the University of Bergen, Norge and Deakin University, Australia. My research focuses mainly on processing of biological data sets, revealing hidden patterns in combined experimental datasets (e.g. NGS, environmental, qPCR) by use of advance statistics, machine learning and datamining techniques. Besides my scientific activities I teach at Technical University in Liberec informatics topics and I have been supervisor of two Ph.D. students.
