The main news session of the Czech Television last night was focused on the topic of climate change. Participated in it also Jan Frouz, director of the Soil & Water Research Infrastructure.

The news cited the published report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which is according to the authors the first such detailed material, which deals with climate change and land management, landscape and agriculture.

According to experts, reducing global greenhouse gas emissions in the energy and transport sectors is not enough to combat global warming. Central Europe should prepare for a more frequent drought – which has been plaguing the Czech Republic for several years and causing extensive damage to fields and forests.
