There is a fully funded MSc position available starting in early 2020 at the Soil and Water Research Infrastructure, Biology Centre CAS and University of South Bohemia in Ceske Budejovice. The selected candidate will work in environmental microbiology applying geochemical and molecular biology techniques for studying microbial functioning in the hypolimnion of a post-mining lake in Karlovy Vary, NW Czech Republic.
Funding is guaranteed for the entire length of the master (2 years).

The selected candidate will be expected to conduct benchwork and analytical and experimental research in the area of genomics and computational biology/bioinformatics, with emphasis in data acquisition and analysis of next-generation sequencing. The selected candidate will be enrolled in the Master of Science programme at the University of South Bohemia (JU).
