Professor Cajthaml finished his Ph.D. study in 2002. During his career he passed several short-term stays e.g. at Umweltforschungcentrum, Leipzig, Germany (8 months); CERMAV, Grenoble France (4 months). From 2006 he is the head of Laboratory of Environmental Technology, Institute of microbiology, ASCR. From 2015, he is a professor at the Charles University and the director of the Institute for Environmental Studies, Faculty of Science, Charles University. He is an author or co-author of 140 papers (2804 citations – WoS) in journals with impact factor, 5 chapters in books, 4 patents, 4 verified technologies, 1 utility model and about 70 lectures or posters at conferences, Hirsch’s index 30 (WoS). He has been an principal or co-investigator of 20 national or international projects. He was a supervisor of 6 PhD, 14 master and 4 bachelor successfully finished students. He is a member of the several scientific organizations and a delegate of the Czech Republic at European Federation for Biotechnology. He is also an active member of the board of the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic and the Czech Science Foundation.
